Bent riders will love these
I ride a recumbent, and I just bought two more pairs. Bent riders don't need padding in the crotch, and padded shorts just make the rider hotter and sweatier. These are very comfortable and durable. Not recommended for upright cycle use.
ProsNo padding in crotch, comfortable, durable
ConsDon't use on upright bike!
Best UsesRecumbent bicycles.

Great short for recumbent cycling!
Great short for recumbent cycling! Would be nice if the material in the crotch was a bit thicker or had a light piece of fabric - leaves nothing to the imagination - I wear light wt. gym shorts over them.
ConsA bit light wt in the crotch.

Great padless cycling short!
I've searched high and low for a quality cycling short without a padded behind. I find that padded shorts hold in too much moisture, and irritate my skin, and prefer the feel of an unpadded short while riding a leather saddle. This is the only short I could find that has a fairly long inseam, does not have a seam running in the sit bone ares, gives adequate compression, is made with a thicker, durable material, and includes leg grippers to keep everything in place. These get used a lot, both under baggy shorts, pants, as well as on their own without any overshort. I own multiple pairs of these, and have a couple thousand miles on each pair, and they are all holding up well. As a precaution, I do not put these shorts in the dryer, and always let them air dry after laundering in an effort to extend the life of the garment. Size seems to run spot on (at least for a 32" waist, Medium size). Keep up the good work, Aerotech!
ProsNo Pad!! Durable.

Sometimes in life you just feel lucky. Well, that's how I feel about my Aero Tech Men's Pro Recumbent Compression shorts, I'm lucky and glad to have found them. They are great for wearing, while riding my many recumbent bicycles.
Best UsesFor me, riding recumbents.

I was a bit worried when I saw the seam running right up THE MIDDLE - but no problem. I wore these with baggy shorts. Combined with a SERFAS TEGU bike seat, I was completely comfortable for a 2 hour ride. I also wore them on my Brooks B17 with baggy shorts - no problems. My goal is to NOT have padded shorts, butt I'm needing something more than just underwear. Even the 9in inseam sports type underwear was riding up my legs when I rode. These stayed in place. The rubber leg grippy is really grippy, so if you find it pulling leg hair, you can flip the leg band outward easily enough, kind of like cuffing your pants, if that makes sense. The fabric feels nicely thick, like it's going to last quite a while. The waist sizing was accurate for me. My pants size is at the low range of the bike shorts size, and they fit me perfectly. If you are at the HIGH end of the recommended sizing, you might consider sizing up.
ProsFabric feels like it will be durable. Everything seems well made. Nice grippy leg band. Price seems reasonable
ConsNone after three bike rides wearing them.
Best UsesCycling when you do not want to be wearing a diaper, like regular cycling shorts.

Good fit, they don't ride up your leg but because of my big belly the will roll down a little at the waste. Love that they are made in PGH.

Great for Recumbent Cycling
I've been riding a recumbent bicycle for 4 months and had always used padded Bib shorts. I started to get chaffing in the groin area due to the chamois padding / stitching. After reviewing some online forums for recumbent bikes, they recommended non padded spandex shorts. I found these and have been using them for 3 weeks now, no chaffing anymore! So far they've been great for my recumbent bicycle and seem pretty durable too - no signs of wear and tear.

Run slightly small.
Great quality but they run a bit small. They fit right just smallish. Like them because I prefer no pad.

Good shorts, great versatility
I am devoted cyclist and I got these for exercise classes and to wear as liners under casual shorts or pants as needed. I am really picky about my gear so here are my thoughts. What I didn't like - they are a little scratchy compared to similar shorts like Pearl Izumi. They feel hot when you first put them on. They also have seams in different places than I am used to. That being said, they wore well and vented well once I got going. The seams didn't bother me. What I did like - these are pretty heavy duty and should last a long time (you shouldn't have any stray inappropriate hairs sticking out). They fit was also very good - the fit my giant biker quads without riding up. They were also plenty high in the back to prevent more unsightliness when down in the drops. My favorite thing is the versatility. They are comfortable enough to ride 25 miles in 85 degrees and 85 percent humidity (which I did Saturday). Without the pad, you can even jump straight into yoga or the pool with them. You just put these on and go.

Exactly what I was looking for.
I was looking for a pair of compression shorts that have some weight to them and these are them. They don't feel cheap like some other brands.
Pros- Constructed well - Good fabric
Cons- Seam down the center of the crock can be irritating.

What else can I say, these shorts are comfortable, great looking and fairly priced. I am waiting for the bib version. These are even better than the competing brands for recumbent shorts, NOT the jerseys, which you should get some much pretty ones some place else. But as far as the shorts go, these are my very favorites.
Proscomfort, looks, price
Consmay be you could add a modesty band, but that's a minor detail since the fitting is almost perfect, at least for my body.

Depends upon the mission!
Hi .. well these shorts are really mission dependent, i.e. are you cycling or a different use? As a cyclist, I only purchase 8 panel and heavy weight material with a pad of my preference, and so unless your seat is padded, I would think twice about buying these short. However, I wanted heavy duty compression short for working out, and play sports and for that purpose, I found these short adequate... 8 panel provides better flexibility in the material and the heavier compression of the cycling short works fine for me.
ConsHere's is where I found these short deficient: while they are heavier than say entry level compression underwear... some or much to flimsy to even describe as compression, these shorts can be labeled compression. However, they are a light weight cycling short and if you are truly seeking a compression undergarment, I would suggest a heavier duty short.
Best UsesAs an undergarment for a variety of sports and cycling if you have a seat pad or a really tough butt!

Excellent for Recumbents
Materials fit and comfort are excellent although I have to wear a size larger than normal to get leg grippers that are also comfortable. However I have this problem with all bike shorts not just these. I have tried rowing shorts (good) and Aerotech's compression shorts (better) but these are the best shorts I have found for riding a short wheelbase recumbent over distances. For me they stay

They're Perfect! This is the short I was looking for to return to Lycra. Riding recumbent means no pad needed so I had migrated away from the aerodynamic threads and given up the benefits of compression on muscle fatigue. What a delightful welcome back these shorts make with their terrific quality construction and super comfortable fit. Can't say enough about the leg grippers in the hem they wor

Great cycling shorts - buy them!
I have been looking for a pair of cycling shorts without the padding in them. After trying several different brands I found the Aero's to be excellent! I would recommend them to any cyclist. I ride a recumbent a mountain and a commuter bike. The shorts work out for all.
