Comfortable and useful shorts
My husband reports that the shorts were comfortable for bike riding. They did not chafe or ride up. He likes having a separate liner which can be worn beneath other leggings according to weather. He has another pair of shorts where the padding is too heavy and thick for his preference, but these worked well for him. The outfit looks good on him. One small caution about sizing. The website says a size large is a 34 to 37 inch waist, but the tag with these shorts say 35 to 37 inches. He wears 35 inches so they fit well and do not sag.

Love these shorts!
Nice loose fit, big pockets, holds whatever. I wear these exclusively whenever I bike ride to work or stores, & around the house. Underwear optional (every day or biking). In an emergency I have also wore them as swim trunks! Dried quickly.
ProsLoose fit for biking (wear with biking underwear, also called liner). Big expandable pockets. Outer pockets zipper closed for security.

Great Shorts
As a big guy, 6'2" 350lbs it is nice to have a short that allows me to wear a classic bike short with chamois underneath. I am not racing, I am riding so the storage pockets and baggy fit are great for touring and commuting. the stich pattern is great to avoid chaffing, and the material breaths.
Prosnice loose fit no center crotch seams breathable

Baggies are a hit
Well thought out. Only suggestion was wider elastic waist as the weight of things in my pockets tended to pull down shorts.
ProsComfy. Two pieces was handy design
ConsThings in pocket tend to pull down shorts.

ATD's Best Bike Short To-Date!
This review is similar to the review I put on Amazon: I've purchased half a dozen mtn. bike shorts and knicker length bike pants from ATD over the past few years. I do appreciate they offer a product line in larger sizes. These particular bike shorts, the "Baggy Touring Short with Padded Brief" are far and away ATD's best product offering to date. The quality from ATD in the past has not always been that great. With these shorts ATD has turned a corner. These shorts are much better quality and are definitely worth the price. The material feels good, the sewing is good, the zippers work well - all were deficiencies in the past for ATD. Noted in ATD's website description of the shorts, they are made in the USA - a plus in my book. Only issues I came up with, are the sizing was larger than my past purchases from ATD. I bought 4XL before and in this short the 4XL was way too big. ATD exchanged for 3XL, which fit fine, if not a little roomy. I'd say the sizing is a little more true-to-size with these shorts than my experience with ATD has been in the past - so I probably bought too large in the first place. The draw string is a little flimsy and I would have preferred a high quality belt that could securely keep the britches in place. I have paid another $10 or $15 in the purchase price to get a good belt. ATD markets these as touring shorts and lists them under mountain bike shorts on their website. I think they are great for both, and are fantastic as a summer commuting short too. I like the zippered pockets for securing my phone and wallet, and the additional open pockets above the zippers which work great to stash bike gloves or other items momentarily. The open pockets are very deep and secure too. These shorts come with a separate padded brief to wear underneath (the brief is not sewn in place like many mtn. bike shorts). Would like to see other colors, and would love to see the same design implemented as a knicker length for Fall/Spring and even a pant length for Winter.
ProsMaterial has a good feel, sewing is good, zippers are good, pockets are deep. Sizing is a little more true-to-size than ATD's shorts have been in the past - which fooled me. In the past I bought a size up, but did not need to with these.
ConsDraw string is a little flimsy - would prefer a quality belt.

Really great cycling short for touring
These longish cycling shorts from Aerotech Designs are really comfortable. They feature an attractive outer short with deep pockets and a separate inner padded short.||I use a hard Brooks leather saddle and enjoy long touring rides of about 100 km. Rides with other brands of shorts have sometimes produced saddle pain but this garment is really comfortable and no saddle pain at all. They air-d

These are real good shorts
These shorts are really good. They are sturdy and they fit great. The style is nice as I'm a big guy so I don't look like an overstuffed sausage. A lot of bike clothing is made to appeal to the slim racer. These are for us humans. They really look good on me. The zippered pockets keep my money credit cards keys and stuff secure. Buy these shorts!

ATD Baggy short review
The shorts feel great waist is maybe a bit large but for me that is better than being too small. These shorts look great too soft and stretchy where they need to be I would be comfortable walking into a coffee shop or the like with these. Pockets are big and roomy. The only complaint is the drawstring broke right away the flimsy drawstring is sewn in the back and not one piece. Bike shorts nee

Love it!!!
Works great and looks great. I like my tight fitting shorts but wanted something that looked more casual for when I stop to check out a museum or go into a restaurant when riding. This works great! Super comfy and functional on the bike or off! Very well constructed.
